The Sans Souci Organic Farm Learning Project objective is to promote sustainable agricultural development through sustainable farming practices through experiential learning opportunities. At present there is an ongoing program with students who attend the local Community College. It teaches them about polyculture – growing various types of crops on a small plot of land, which promotes soil conservation and imitates nature’s diversity, rather than the traditional monocropping. They will learn things like the process of mulching, and the symbiotic relationship between various crops. This project will also promote local food security and engage the younger generation in sustainable agriculture.

This grant was awarded to The Diamond Trust to see this project to fruition, and we at SVGEF expect great things to come!
